Privacy notice
How WIT – Worldwide Industrial Trading USA Inc. collects, uses and protects information when you use this site, trade with us, or when we connect to our own accounting books.
Who we are
WIT – Worldwide Industrial Trading USA Inc. (WIT) sells refractories and industrial minerals delivered to plants in the United States and Mexico. We are the business responsible for the information described here.
What we collect
Business contact details you give us: your name, work email, company, phone and the delivery address or ZIP code of your plant.
Records of doing business with us: questions, quotes, orders, shipments, invoices and payments, and the messages and documents that go with them.
From suppliers and logistics partners: price sheets, quotes, licenses and the contact details of the people we deal with.
Public business records about companies that may buy from us, such as United States import records, EPA facility records and Mexico's INEGI business directory. We use them to find companies, not to profile individuals.
Technical records any website keeps: the pages requested and the time, kept in our hosting provider's logs. We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
How we use it
To answer questions, price and quote, take and deliver orders, invoice and collect, pay suppliers, and keep the records the law requires.
To write to companies that may buy from us. Every such email says who we are and how to say no; reply "no thanks" and we never write again.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Our QuickBooks connection
Our accounting is kept in QuickBooks Online. With our own authorization, this site connects to our company's QuickBooks books only, through Intuit's official interface.
It writes our own records into our books: customers, invoices, payments received, suppliers as vendors, bills and payments to suppliers. It reads only the names of our accounts and items and the entries it wrote, so nothing is entered twice. It does not read anyone else's QuickBooks data.
The sign-in Intuit gives us is stored encrypted. A partner of WIT can disconnect it at any time, from our site or from QuickBooks.
Who we share it with
Only what is needed to do the work: the supplier, freight forwarder, customs broker or trucker handling an order; our bank; our accountant; and the services that run our business, which are Google Workspace for email, our database and hosting providers, Intuit QuickBooks for our books, and an AI service that reads and drafts messages for us. Each uses it only to provide its service to us.
We share information when the law requires it, for example with customs or tax authorities.
How long we keep it
Business and tax records are kept as long as the law requires. Other information is kept while we have a business reason for it, and deleted or anonymized after that.
Security
Connections to this site are encrypted. Access to records is limited by role: a buyer sees only their own company's records, a supplier only their own. Sign-in tokens for outside services are stored encrypted.
Your choices
Write to admin@industrialwit.ai to see, correct or delete information about you, or to stop hearing from us. We answer within 30 days.
Changes
If we change this notice, we post the new version here with its effective date.
